WordPress Content Management
Oftentimes, a website is built with a content management system (CMS) to make editing the content of a website easy for people that may be unfamiliar with coding or design principles. Generally, I build websites using the WordPress.org platform, a popular and robust content management system.
Using WordPress and its plugins opens the door to the creation of a variety of websites, including:
- Blogs
- eCommerce Stores
- Business Websites
- Portfolios
- Forums
- Membership Sites
- Social Networks
Over 60% of websites with a content management system are WordPress sites.
By building sites with WordPress, I’m able to:
- Deliver advanced functionality to nonprofits and small to medium-sized businesses
Because of its popularity and open-source platform, the themes, support, and plugin network for WordPress is huge. Advanced functionality that would otherwise take weeks to develop custom, can instead be added to a WordPress site rather simply. - Make editing easier
All of my WordPress sites are built with page builders so that your team members can easily go in and make edits to content on their own using a visual editor similar to tools they likely already use elsewhere. - Plan for growth
Many businesses that choose to build their website with other platforms, such as Wix and Squarespace, will find that they quickly outgrow their platform’s capabilities. A need for more control, customization, and functionality often leads to scrapping an existing site in favor of a more accommodating platform. I see the full growth potential of every business I work with and include ideas for the future in each website strategy. To prepare for this, I encourage using WordPress from the starting point.
